Personal Information

Dr. Naveen Rattan is the visionary founder and principal attorney of Rattan Advocates. He was born on 16th January, 1959. He did his Post Graduation in Law and bagged Gold Medal in the year 1988 and thereafter did his Ph.D. on taxation in the year 2002. He also remained visiting lecturer, (Taxation) in Guru Nanak Dev University for more than 16 years.

Tenure of Practice

He has been practicing mainly in the field of Indirect Taxation since 1986. He has successfully represented clients in legal matters with dedication during his tenure of 38 years before the various tax authorities including Hon’ble Tribunals and Hon’ble High Court.

Bar Associations

He is a member of Supreme Court Bar Association, New Delhi and Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association, Chandigarh. He is also a member of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners, Mumbai. He has served as a member of Punjab Tax Bar Association, Ludhiana and Goods and Service Tax Bar Association, Amritsar.

Political Career

He has served as a National Vice President of AIFTP (NZ) in the year 2022 and 2023. He was also appointed as a Chairman of All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (North Zone) in the year 2021. He is the Chairman of GST Board of Punjab Tax Bar Association. He was also unanimously declared the President of Sales Tax Bar Association, Amritsar for the year 2002, 2005 & 2007. Currently, he is a member of Advisory Board of AIFTP (NZ).

Achievements

He has represented Central Railways as Panel Lawyer for 3 years. He is also the leading Counsel for Semi Government Agencies, Punjab. He has bagged “Best Chairman” and “Best Conference” awards for National Tax Conference held in Amritsar in the year 2018 by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Deepak Gupta, Judge Hon’ble Supreme Court of India

Editorial Attainments:

His lectures on the important tax subjects have been recognized at National and International Level in the presence of various Hon’ble Supreme Court & Hon’ble High Court Judges. Most of the cases argued by him before Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court and Tribunals were published in reputed tax journals and magazines. His pursuit of excellence continues to shape the future of legal industry ensuring that justice remains accessible to all in this era.
